We offer unique writing and storytelling experiences to children and families coping with illness and hospitalization.

Writers Incorporated is a Massachusetts-based nonprofit that offers complimentary writing and book publishing opportunities to hospitalized children and families.

We believe that writing can be a powerful tool for processing and for creative self-expression, especially for those coping with acute or chronic illness. Our program encourages children and families to build supportive, trust-based relationships with our facilitators during hospital-based writing sessions.

We offer all participants the opportunity to write, design and publish a book of any length, in any genre. Patients and families retain full copyright to all works created through our program. All books published are complimentary—and we work to make plenty of additional copies available, per the author’s request. Many of our young authors enjoy giving autographed copies of their works to friends, grandparents, their school, or even the local library.

Both of my children have overcome so much. Putting our family’s story into words has been an unforgettable experience. I’m so happy to put this together, and to work with the writing program. I’m still trying to forget our medical trauma, and writing this book is helping me to untangle the knots in my stomach and my heart.
